It's a remake of the original, with a new dungeon, wireless play, and touch-screen stuff.
The touch-screen stuff I'm not thrilled about.
The other stuff is just icing on the cake.
Seriously, I'm going to rave about this for months~ |

I meant to just play and have fun and be done quickly; I didn't mean to win the thing.
But I won the thing.
... ^_^;; I feel like I'm getting better and better at poker... maybe some day you'll see me on ESPN, at the WSOP?

It's been more than a year since I got my replacement copy of Killer Instinct Gold, and as I was cleaning up my room, I found it on the floor. I briefly considered throwing it away, but that notion passed quickly - instead, I decided to experiment.
Two q-tips and some rubbing alcohol later, there's a hell of a lot less gunk and grime on the connectors, and I have a working copy of Killer Instinct Gold again. \o/ Player Win!
On a side note, my room is coming together nicely, except that I've got tons of little bits and pieces of stuff that are taking me an eternity to figure out what to do with~ >_ |

| Vay-Kay Wrap-up |
[Jun. 6th, 2008|09:20 am] |
So I stopped trying to update every day, because... well, because I just didn't think of doing it, really. I'll jot down a quick item-by-item list for the vacation, though.
So, you all know about the first day's fiascoes, what with the room service and shoddy room and such. Well, it got better.~ One of the electrical outlets in the room wasn't working. .. Actually, I can't think of anything else about the room at the moment, so we'll just move on, yes.
Breakfast each day was okay. Not great, but it was free, so... yeah. They had a good selection of stuff to choose from - just, the stuff wasn't the best quality. I personally had a bagel and cold cereal the first day; every day thereafter was two bowls of cereal. That bagel was staaaaaaaale. Jefe mostly had the french toast (after we warmed it up in the microwave, 'cause it was frozen before they put it out).
On Monday we went swimming in the ocean! It was sooooo cold... ._. But I went out neck-deep and it was fun to jump with the waves and everything. We got whistle-ed at by the lifeguard for going out too far, though. But then we walked on the beach some and found some shells and even a couple of sand fleas! They were so cute~ ^_^ Jefe got sunburned on Monday; I, through the judicious use of sunblock, did not. Dinner was a medium pizza from Pizza hut. I got mine nice and normal, with pepperoni. Jefe got hers weird, with black olives and pineapple. Yuck. We watched some TV and played some cards, and that was the end of that day.
It should be noted that neither of us slept very well at all while we were there. The bed was just too hard, too uncomfortable. Bah.
We didn't do a -whole- lot on Tuesday. We went out and walked through the city (and didn't go into any of the shops ;_;), and along the beach some more (and found some more shells). Jefe's sunburn leveled up! The rest of the day, we spent watching TV and playing on my laptop and overall being lazy. Leftovers for dinner, and then bed.
Wednesday was a "be lazy in the room day". After breakfast, we went back to the room and stayed there most of the day, watching TV and playing poker and reading and such. I went out for a walk on the beach by myself at one point; later on, Jefe joined me and we had a nice (although wet, thank-you-very-much to the high tide and water) walk together. We got back, ordered pizza and a salad from a local pizza shop, and watched Raiders of the Lost Ark (first time for me~). Sleep.
Thursday was uneventful. We got up, had breakfast, checked out, bought my sister a souvenir, and then I drove us home. I didn't get us lost at all. ^_^ We just kinda lazed around my house, relaxing and unwinding. I kicked some butt in Dr. Mario Online, and we played some Wii Bowling, and... yeah. Relaxed. Had Chinese for dinner and got whipped in cards, and then I took her home.
Now I'm waking up and getting ready to do stuff before I pick Jefe up from work at 1. The plan is that we'll be going to her house afterward to hang out. I'm a bit wary of it, because of how it sounds like her mom's been acting. We'll have to see if that works out, or for how long.
So, yeah. There's my vacation in a nutshell. Not very exciting, I'm sure. Sorry~ But it was fun, and relaxing... oh yeah, I needed it.
P.S. From our hallway, you could see two white umbrellas on a roof that resembled Bloopers. Bloop! |

| Hotel, Day 1 (so far) |
[Jun. 1st, 2008|08:13 pm] |
Hotel adventures, part 1. Hooray? No way.
So we get here, and parking is nonexistent in front of the hotel. Literally. We had to offload all our stuff before I drove the car over to the parking garage place. Originally, we were in room 108. One of the highlights of our room was supposedly the balcony. ... Now, one would assume that a room on the first floor doesn't have much of a balcony. One would assume correctly. The "balcony" was really just a little deck leading down to the pool. So Jefe and I requested a higher floor - we got 608 instead. Hurray?
Nope. The door into the room is really messed up - you essentially have to kick the stupid thing to get it open. It's a pain to close too - you have to push even harder to close it. After being on the road for 3 hours, of course, I needed to use the bathroom. Turns out the bathroom door doesn't close. ... Fun stuff. So I started putting some stuff away in the closet - the closet door doesn't close either. Whooooo.
We have a nice safe in the room. Nice and secure. Apparently that's enough of an amenity for them to charge us an extra $1.00 a day. Even if we didn't use it, too. ... Wow. But that's okay~ So we called room service for dinner, since we were both pretty tired from the travel. I ordered a cheeseburger, and Jefe politely asked if they could hold the lettuce and tomato. They told her no. .... WTF? You don't ever tell people "no". So what did my cheeseburger look like? On the bottom bun was my burger, with the cheese. Then we had the top bun - and being held onto the bun with a toothpick was my lettuce, tomato, and pickle. That's right, WITH A TOOTHPICK. Now, this may be unreasonable, but I don't really see how hard it is to NOT put the lettuce and tomato on the toothpick. Also, Jefe requested no anchovies in her salad, which they denied... ... but there weren't any anchovies anyway. Also, the food wasn't good - I guess they tried to make up for that by having a girl in a super short dress bring it up.
This hotel's scoring 1 / 10 so far. Let's see if they can improve it... |

Off to my vacation!
In Virginia Beach until Thursday, then coming home and spending a few days doing absolutely nothing. Hells yeah~ As usual, I'm packing too much stuff... but hey, better to have too much to do than not enough, yeah? For example - I'm only packing two books. ... Granted, both books are 1000+ pages, but that just means if I finish one I'll still have plenty to read. See? Perfect sense. ^_^ |
